We’re happy to have Rise Broadband as one of our customers. We’re especially thankful for their willingness to share their story of how they overcame NOC challenges to improve service availability, gain better visibility over operations, and boost the productivity of their NOC team.
If you’re not familiar, Rise is the largest fixed wireless service provider in the U.S. They serve nearly 200,000 homes and businesses in rural and suburban areas across 16 states with reliable broadband internet and phone service. Their success through rapid growth and acquisitions is what put strain on the operations center.
A complex, interrelated ecosystem of towers, servers and devices was producing 100,000+ event alerts every week. Incident detection, investigation and resolution was a largely manual, time consuming process. Rise’s customers suffered service availability and performance issues. The situation was becoming untenable and impeding the NOC’s ability to scale to serve the business.
“Our customers are counting on our phone and internet services around the clock—so maximizing availability and performance is a critical mandate. Now that we have BigPanda, we track and view correlated incident data from across our complex infrastructure, and do so in a unified, centralized fashion. As a result, our NOC engineers gain the insights they need to detect and resolve issues more quickly—while at the same automating their workflows.”
— Brian Kendall, VP of Service Assurance, Rise Broadband
If you are a Zabbix customer, then be sure to read Rise’s story. BigPanda processes alerting from eight different Zabbix servers and displays clustered incidents in a unified fashion. Of course our correlation reaches across all segments of their network to monitor more than 27,000 nodes. Rise now monitors system health with custom views by application or service.
Rise has intelligently automated and scaled its network operations to realize maximum efficiency. The results have been improved service availability and happier customers.
