In honor of Women’s History Month, BigPanda is featuring interviews with some of our female Pandas. For this article, we caught up with Shikha Gaur, one of our stellar Solutions Engineers. She shared a bit about herself, a few personal motivations, and advice to her younger self. Read on to get the full scoop!

Q: Thanks for taking the time to chat today, Shikha. To start us off, what would you say your superpower is?
Shikha: I would say perseverance, efficiency, and collaboration are my superpowers.

Q: What are the three things that make you unique?
Shikha: My technical acumen along with good communication skills to both tech and non-tech customers is one. I’m also good at cross-functional collaboration. Third, I think being a mother of two under-two year-olds makes me know the value of time and drives my ability to make implementations more efficient.

Q: What fuels you?
Shikha: Challenging technical problems.

Q: What does it mean to you to be a woman in tech?
Shikha: I’m in the implementation team where women typically tend to have a small footprint. It’s fun to be able to bring my observation and troubleshooting skills to the table while also occasionally bringing the temperature down. That comes in handy especially when we have to interface with customers.

Q: Are there any organizations you support or are involved in?
Shikha: I currently support Asha for Education, a non-profit organization that catalyzes socio-economic change in India through the education of underprivileged children. I’ve been involved with them in the past as well.

Q: What activities do you do outside of BigPanda?
Shikha: I like to learn new skills. Currently, I’m working on my coding and communication skills while raising my two little kids. (One is four months old and the other is 21 months.)

Q: What advice would you give your younger self?
Shikha: Don’t be in a rush. Life gives you ample time and opportunities.

Q: What is your favorite quote?
Shikha:  It’s never too late to mend.

Q: What do you love about working at BigPanda?
Shikha: The people and culture. It’s a wonderful workplace with amazing customers that I love to work with.
